Symfony

Symfony is an open-source PHP framework that we frequently turn to. With a modular structure and the ability to be integrated with other platforms and technologies like AngularJS and Salesforce, there’s not much it can’t handle. We tend to use it to create new digital products, like developing APIs, integrating with cloud or security platforms, and creating administration and organisational systems. That’s hardly scratching the surface of its capabilities, we think, so we’re also nurturing a Symfony2 development community here in Melbourne, to help discover else it could do.

Enterprise innovation in presentation

Working with KPMG to deliver innovation across 2 of the most important touch points with clients, Flint developed an accessible responsive delivery platform called Tapp to present KPMG proposals and deliver work.

Using the capabilities of the platform for the back-end services, Flint leveraged Symfony2 to build a layered application and set of web services to deliver function and security. Due to the organisation producing content and allowing clients to share highly sensitive documents, stability, security and availability uptime were key factors in the success of the product.

Startup Agility

Working on our very own product, Alpaca.travel is an innovative social driven travel platform, focused on the way consumers like to learn and be inspired to travel.

Launching later this year, Flint has been working busily away in advancing prototypes through funding rounds towards iterative market ready launch. Putting all techniques to use; from user interaction design, messaging queues, beautiful content presentation and a robust multi-national infrastructure the platform is focused on being ready to scale.

Achieving quality outcomes

To improve training and boost the demand for quality outcomes, the Produqtiv tool was developed by the mining industry for their industry. The Produqtiv framework allows organisations to develop better clarity on the organisation benefit of training, while ensuring the outcome of that training is met through improved engagement with registered training officers.

Flint assisted develop the digital framework for delivery. Execution was handled by the team leveraging Symfony2 for an end-to-end enterprise tool.

New Markets and Solutions

Flint has developed an innovative marketplace platform to enable new commercial models to be implemented in novel markets - targeting solving supply/demand challenges that exist. Partnering with other entreprenuers, Flint is assisting in enabling new ideas to go to market on-top of a robust, scalable and flexible platform.

Dealing with highly complex marketplace behaviours and workflows, differing commercial models and data structure, Symfony2 is productive and effective.

Consumer and operations focus

In a disruption to traditional supply chain, Kelly Brothers - one of the largest producers of fresh vegetables in Victoria took on an ambitious project to launch a vegetable box delivered within 24 hours from the farm to your door.

Flint assisted with a number of aspects to assist launch the service, including building the subscription e-commerce site with a full service delivery platform and CRM, built in Symfony2. The platform handles all operations and customer interactions, from subscription payments, address management and all the workflows associated due rejected payments, deadline reminders, re-engagement through to providing details for the warehouse through to the driver.

Delivering Programs and Engaging Communities

Working with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, Flint developed the Shared Table and Resource Library digital platforms to engage schools as part of their school program. The platform provides access to high-quality learning material to meet educational outcomes requirements by Government as part of the schools curiculum as well as helping inspire other participants through growing the strength of community. All of this while importantly reporting back on participation and achievements.

Building a platform to delivery quality, strong engagement and increased scalability were key behind delivering such a highly effective program to hundreds of schools across Australia.
